Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 December 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses GiftRise at giftriseapp.com and in the GiftRise app: people who create wishlists (“list owners”) and people who contribute to them (“contributors”). Please read them before you use the service.

1. Who we are

GiftRise is operated by Keetcode Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus under number HE 434684, with its registered office at Griva Digeni 51, Athineon Court, Office 202, 8047 Paphos (“we”, “us”). VAT number: CY10434684Y. You can contact us at hello@giftriseapp.com.

2. What GiftRise is

GiftRise is a service for creating personal wishlists and collecting money gifts towards them from anyone they share them with.

  • A contribution is a gift from the contributor to the list owner. We do not sell the items on a wishlist, and we do not guarantee that the list owner will spend the money on a particular wish.
  • We are not a bank, an e-money institution or a charity platform. Payments are processed by Stripe (see section 8).
  • GiftRise is for personal wishes. It is not for charitable or emergency fundraising, political campaigns, raising money for a business, or any purpose listed in section 4.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and receive payouts.
  • List owners must have a bank account in a country supported by our payment provider and must complete identity verification before the first payout.
  • You must give accurate information and keep your login details safe. You are responsible for activity in your account.
  • Contributors can contribute without an account.

4. Wishlists and content rules

You are responsible for the wishlists, wishes, links, images and messages you add. You must not use GiftRise to:

  • collect money for illegal goods or services, weapons, drugs, tobacco, gambling, adult content or anything restricted by Stripe’s restricted businesses list;
  • mislead contributors, impersonate someone else or collect money under false pretences;
  • launder money, evade sanctions or tax, or move money for third parties;
  • post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing or infringes someone else’s rights.

We may remove content, pause a wishlist, hold a balance while we investigate, or close an account that breaks these rules. When we do, we tell you what we did and why, unless the law prevents us.

5. Contributions

  • Amount and fee. The contributor chooses any amount. On top of it, the contributor pays a service fee of 4% of the contribution, minimum €0.50, VAT included. The fee and the total are shown before payment and are the same for every payment method. The full contribution is credited to the list owner’s balance.
  • Currency and cards. All amounts are in euros (EUR). We accept cards issued in the European Union and the payment methods shown at checkout.
  • Authentication. Card payments are confirmed with 3D Secure by the contributor’s bank.
  • Name and message. A contributor can show their name or contribute anonymously. Anonymous contributions are shown to the list owner as “Anonymous”. We still keep the contributor’s payment details as required by law.
  • When the service is performed. Our service is performed in full as soon as the contribution is credited to the list owner’s balance. By confirming the payment, the contributor asks us to perform the service immediately and acknowledges that the 14-day right of withdrawal ends once the service has been fully performed.
  • Refunds. Contributions are final, with the exceptions described in our Refund policy. If a contribution is returned because the list owner has not set up payouts within 85 days (section 6), the contribution is refunded and the service fee is not, because our service and the payment processing have already been provided.

6. Balances and payouts

  • Balance. Contributions are credited to the list owner’s balance, which is held through our payment provider Stripe. The balance is not a bank deposit and does not earn interest.
  • Identity verification. Before the first payout, the list owner verifies their identity with Stripe. Stripe may ask for more information at any time to meet legal requirements.
  • Available balance. Contributions become available for withdrawal once our payment provider settles them, usually a few business days after payment. A card payment that was not confirmed with 3D Secure, or a payment flagged by our fraud checks, becomes available 7 days after payment.
  • Withdrawal to a bank account. The list owner can withdraw the available balance to their bank account at any time. The withdrawal fee is 2% of the amount withdrawn, minimum €3, VAT included, and is shown before the list owner confirms. Payouts usually arrive within a few business days.
  • Buy button. Tapping “Buy” on a wish is a withdrawal of that wish’s available balance to the list owner’s bank account, followed by opening the shop’s page. The withdrawal fee applies.
  • Automatic payout. Our payment provider allows balances to be held for a limited time. We therefore pay out the balance automatically 85 days after the oldest contribution still in the balance. The withdrawal fee applies to automatic payouts as well. If the balance is €3 or less on that day, we return the contributions to the contributors instead, and the service fee is not refunded. We send reminders before the automatic payout. We act on these predefined rules only and do not use list owners’ balances for any other purpose.
  • Payouts not set up. If the list owner has not completed identity verification with Stripe within 85 days after the oldest contribution still in the balance, we refund the contributions to the contributors’ original payment methods. The service fee is not refunded (section 5).
  • Taxes. The list owner is responsible for any taxes on the gifts they receive.

7. Chargebacks and fraud

If a contributor disputes a payment with their bank (a chargeback) and the dispute is decided against us, we may deduct the disputed amount from the list owner’s balance. If the contribution has already been paid out, we may deduct it from the list owner’s future balance. If that is not enough, the list owner must repay the amount to us. We may hold a balance or delay a payout while we investigate suspected fraud.

8. Payment processing

Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited and Stripe Technology Europe, Limited, an electronic money institution regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, and their affiliates (“Stripe”). When you pay or receive money through GiftRise, Stripe processes your data under the Stripe Privacy Policy. List owners complete identity verification through Stripe’s onboarding, where Stripe shows any terms that apply to them. Stripe acts on our instructions when it pays out to list owners; please contact us, not Stripe, with questions about a balance or a payout.

9. Buy buttons and affiliate links

A “Buy” button on a wish sends the wish’s balance to the list owner’s bank account (section 6) and takes them to an external shop. We are not the seller and are not responsible for the shop, its products or its terms. Some links may be affiliate links: if you buy, the shop may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate disclosure.

10. Changes to fees

We will announce any change to our fees on this page and by email to list owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. The fee shown at checkout is the fee you pay.

11. Reporting content and complaints

  • Reporting. Anyone can report a wishlist or content they believe is illegal or breaks these terms using the “Report” link on the wishlist or by emailing hello@giftriseapp.com. Please tell us where the content is, why you think it is illegal or breaks our rules, and your name and email (unless you report child sexual abuse material).
  • Our decision. We review reports promptly and tell the person who reported and the list owner what we decided. If we restrict content or an account, we explain the reasons.
  • Complaints. If you disagree with our decision, reply to our email within 6 months and we will review it again.
  • Point of contact. Our single point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act is hello@giftriseapp.com. We communicate in English.

12. Liability

We provide GiftRise with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses caused by a shop you buy from, by events outside our reasonable control, or by your breach of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer.

13. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing us. We pay out any remaining balance to your bank account first. If payouts are not set up or the balance is €3 or less, we return the contributions to the contributors instead; the service fee is not refunded. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or where the law requires it.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using GiftRise after that, the new terms apply.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. Please contact us first at hello@giftriseapp.com - we will try to resolve any issue directly.
